Danny Batth has played a minor role in Wolves' promotion campaign and Leeds should swoop in to acquire him for next season.

The 27-year-old has only made 18 appearances across all competitions with 13 of those coming in the league. He has found himself fourth in the pecking order behind Conor Coady, Romain Saiss, and Ryan Bennett. This isn't a bad thing considering how well the players in front of him have played as well as the strong understanding they have with each other.

Nonetheless, Batth is likely to be disappointed with the limited opportunities he has been given this season even if his side have been promoted. Leeds can take advantage of this by offering a key role in their defence especially if Pontus Jansson decides to leave.

His statistics show his strong all-round ability which would make him useful regardless of how Leeds decide to set up next season.

77.4% pass success rate with 36.7 passes per game on average shows that he can play in a high defensive line with an active role in build-up which is useful for teams that play a high technical standard of possession football.

Heckingbottom is likely to set up his team to absorb pressure rather than this approach next season, but Batth is also capable in that area as well. He averages 5.6 clearances per game, so he is used to dealing with danger whether that be aerially or on the ground.

Batth also offers a significant set piece threat with two goals in just 18 appearances. He has all the qualities to thrive as the centre of the team while also possessing experience with this season showing him what is needed as a collective to get promoted. Bringing him in will certainly help solve some of the structural problems that Leeds currently have even if Jansson does leave.
