It hasn't been the easiest of starts to life at Wigan Athletic for Kieffer Moore.

Having hit 17 league goals in just 31 games for Barnsley to help them to an immediate promotion from League One last season, the striker then made the move to The DW Stadium in the summer transfer window, joining the Latics for a fee reported to be worth around £3million.

Since then however, Moore has struggled to make an impact for his new club, failing to find the net in nine league games for Paul Cook's side since the start of the season.

But despite that difficult opening to the campaign, Moore was still handed a call up for Wales for the October international, where they faced Slovakia and Croatia in two crucial Euro 2020 qualifiers.

So how did Moore fare with his country? And will it be of any encouragement for Wigan?

Here, we put the spotlight on the striker's performances during the international break to find out.

Having the played the whole of both of Wales' games during the international break - both of which ended in 1-1 draws - it does seem as though Moore has the backing of Wales manager Ryan Giggs.

That is something that the striker started to repay quickly, as he headed in Dan James' cross 25 minutes into the first of those two games against Slovakia, marking both his first goal of the season, and his first international goal.

Given his start to the season Wigan, The Latics will surely be hoping that that has given him a much-needed confidence boost ahead of a return to club action this weekend.

Indeed, with three of Moore's four shots across the course of the international break on target, it does seem as though the striker is starting to find his range this season, although the fact that all four of those shots came against Slovakia - with none against Croatia - may come as a small concern.

That concern may however, be reduced by the fact that Moore had four touches in the opposition penalty area in both games, highlighting that he is still getting into positions from which he can be most effective, either for Wales or Wigan.

Furthermore, the fact that he attempted five offensive duels in each game suggests that Moore is not currently short on confidence, when you consider that he was going up against a Croatian defence that little over a year ago, were playing in a World Cup final.

In addition to that, with Moore having assisted two shots in two games over the international break, it also seems that the 27-year-old is a striker who right now, is playing in a way that will see him create chances for his teammates as well as take them himself.

It seems therefore that after a difficult start to the season for Moore, the striker is finally starting to show the sort of form that convinced Wigan to part with the sort of money they did for him.

Giving the Latics somewhat precarious position in the Championship table, that probably couldn't have come at a much better time.
