There was plenty for Paul Heckingbottom to be encouraged about during Leeds United’s draw with Derby County on Wednesday evening, with the Whites putting in an impressive display at Pride Park.

Heckingbottom’s side twice led at Derby, only to be pulled back on two occasions by the Rams, who are going in search of automatic promotion.

The Whites looked good going forward, but conceded after two defensive mistakes, with the likes of Laurens De Bock and Liam Cooper heavily criticised following the contest.

For De Bock, it was just the 25-year-old’s sixth appearance for Leeds, following his January move to Elland Road from Belgium.

Here at FLW, we have taken a look at De Bock’s Leeds career so far, assessing whether the criticism of the left-back is fair.

The 25-year-old has made six appearances, with his defensive stats making good reading on the whole.

De Bock wins an average of 3.2 aerial duels per game, as well as making an average of 1.2 interceptions, 2.7 tackles and 5.8 clearances every time he takes to the field.

In possession, De Bock is averaging a passing success rate of 75.8%.
