Matty Cash has been one of Nottingham Forest's standout performers this season, with the Reds putting up a real fight for promotion under Sabri Lamouchi.

The 22-year-old has played an influential role in helping the Reds climb to within touching distance of the automatic promotion places, with a game in hand on the teams above them.

After impressing under Aitor Karanka last term and finishing the campaign with eight goals to his name, Cash would have been hoping to challenge the likes of Albert Adomah and Joe Lolley for a place out wide, and make an impact under Lamouchi.

The impact he has made thus far has been extraordinary, but perhaps not in a position that he would have expected to be playing in.

A long-term injury to Tendayi Darikwa in pre-season saw Cash become Forest's first-choice right back heading into the season - at first, he had his doubters, but he's undoubtedly proved his critics wrong.

The full-back is going from strength to strength, week in, week out under Lamouchi, and has produce a huge number of solid, standout displays for the Reds.

The Sun have recently claimed, though, that Everton, Southampton and Crystal Palace are interested in signing Forest's homegrown star for around £12m, after a hugely impressive campaign thus far.

Here, we see if Cash would be ready for life in the Premier League...

Cash has everything you need in a modern day full-back, with the role becoming more focused on attacking rather than defending.

Going forward has never been, and never will be a problem for Cash, who is a natural winger and has played out wide throughout the duration of his time on Trentside since coming through the academy.

The flying full-back has been so important for the Reds in the final third this term, scoring two goals as well as producing two assists.

His best work came against Stoke City in late September, where he bombed down the line and put in two delicious crosses for Joe Lolley and Sammy Ameobi's goals, showcasing how dangerous he can be on the overlap.

So far this season, Cash has made 33 progressive runs - as alluded to before, he is very dangerous on the overlap and has linked up really well with Lolley down the right flank.

The pair have developed a really good understanding this term, with Cash accruing a pass success rate of 73% so far this season.

Defensively is where Cash has made an excellent improvement - the 22-year-old has come up against some very talented wingers in the likes of Sergi Canos and Kamil Grosicki to name just a couple, but he has coped really well on the whole.

He has won 61% of his defensive duels, as well as accruing a slide tackle success rate of 66.7%. You would back him to get even better under Lamouchi, and he is turning into a remarkable young full-back already.
