Reading currently sit in the unwelcome position of rock bottom of the Championship table after six games played.

The Royals remain winless in their first batch of fixtures, amassing just two points thanks to draws with Blackburn Rovers and Aston Villa, respectively.

Paul Clement was appointed in March after the dismissal of Jaap Stam, and since his appointment, the former Derby County and Swansea City boss has overseen two wins during his tenure.

That is a run of two wins in 16 games, both by the odd goal and both at home.

Reading’s latest defeat came at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday, a 2-1 reverse at the Madejski Stadium.

Under Clement, the Royals have only scored nine goals but have conceded 22, leaving them with a negative goal difference of 13 goals to their name since the current boss took charge.

It has been a poor start to the season for a side who narrowly clawed their way above the Championship trapdoor last time out.

With that said, here at FLW, we asked Reading thought Paul Clement was the right man to get the Royals out of their current rut.

It was a resounding result of the opinion that Clement is not the right man to get Reading out of their current slump, with 70 per cent of the fans polled against the idea of the former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich assistant leading them to a positive set of results.

Conversely, 30 per cent of the supporters polled felt Clement would be able to turn it around and deliver three points on a consistent basis to lift the Berkshire side off the foot of the Championship table.
