For the second season in a row, Steve Cooper has guided Swansea City into the play-off places and it's without spending a mass amount of money on his team.

He still has the experience of the likes of Andre Ayew and Kyle Naughton to call upon from years gone by, but the rest of his side has a young and hungry feel to it and he's managed to coach the best out of certain players and for a lot of the season they were involved in the automatic promotion battle.

Swansea fell at the semi-final stage to Brentford last season, with Rhian Brewster's goals not enough to get them into the Premier League after his January loan move from Liverpool.

Cooper made multiple mid-season additions this season as well, with the likes of Conor Hourihane and Morgan Whittaker coming in along with USA international Jordan Morris - although his campaign was shortly ended by a knee injury.

There were rumours of other players coming in - and also departing - in January as well, let's look at seven of those which could be revisited this summer.

In a transfer rumour which may have been surprising to a lot of people, Dhanda was linked to a host of clubs across Europe by the Daily Mail.

Dhanda was by no means a regular in the first half of the campaign as he made 12 appearances in 22 possible league games before the window opened, but it didn't stop the likes of Leeds United, Marseille, Atalanta and RB Leipzig being linked.

It may be because of his Liverpool academy pedigree as Dhanda hasn't really shown the consistency to be a top Championship attacking midfielder, although on his day he does show a lot of flair.

How often his day is is up for debate though - clubs may come in for Dhanda this summer but he's scored just once this season and it's hard to believe he will move to a big European or Premier League side.

According to WalesOnline, Swansea had genuine interest in bringing Davis in on loan from Aston Villa in the January window as they looked to bolster their attack - like they did 12 months earlier when bringing in Brewster.

It was decided though by Dean Smith that the striker would remain at Villa Park to remain a back-up to Ollie Watkins with Wesley still sidelined with a knee injury.

Davis has had plenty of chances since the window closed and even scored his first Premier League goal, however chances may be hard to come by next season with Wesley now back fit.

A loan move seems realistic for 2021/22 and the Liberty Stadium could be an ideal destination.

The son of former Holland international Pierre van Hooijdonk, Sydney was linked before the January window opened along with Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday.

At the time of the report, Van Hooijdonk had racked up an impressive record in the division below the Eredivisie, scoring eight times in 12 games and that record has extended to 14 goals in 27 outings for NAC Breda.

He looks likely to be available on a free transfer this summer as his contract expires and Swansea could do worse than taking a punt on the 21-year-old with their natural striking options severely lacking right now.

Another striker here and according to Mike McGrath of the Telegraph, Swansea had a deadline day approach for Leeds youngster Greenwood rejected with the Premier League side opting to keep the teenager in their under-23 squad for the rest of the season.

Greenwood, who joined Leeds from Arsenal last summer, has scored 12 goals in 18 Premier League 2 outings - including five in his last four - and he may be ready next season for a move into the Championship.

If Swansea stay down then it's plausible to think that the interest will come once again and Cooper, providing he stays at the club, is a good coach of young strikers and he could make Greenwood a star.

Swansea were one of a number of clubs linked with Luton midfielder Ruddock in January, along with Norwich and West Brom.

The 27-year-old is an energetic central midfield player and he's out of contract this summer, and as far as we know there hasn't been a new one signed at Kenilworth Road.

Ruddock has been with Luton since their National League days in 2014 and has risen through the leagues with them, but he may be ready for a new challenge and after his performances with the Hatters in the last few seasons, he's more than earned it and he could give Swansea's current crop of midfielders some competition.

It seemed to be no secret that Swansea wanted a striker for the entirety of the January window, and they thought they had a loan deal wrapped up for Southampton's Obafemi.

However disaster struck as the Ireland international suffered an injury in training, meaning that the Swans ended their interest and he only just returned from the setback last month for the Saints' under-23 team.

A fully-fit Obafemi though next season could be an asset to the Swans whichever league they're in, and a player who has the pace and power of the 20-year-old could really make an impact especially in the Championship.

Early in January it was reported by Football Insider that centre-back Pierre was being targeted by the Swans from League One side Shrewsbury Town.

The 27-year-old Grenada international has played most of his career in Leagues One and Two and has always been a goal threat from set pieces, but no move ever came to fruition and Swansea didn't even bring in another centre-half.

Could it be revisited if they stay in the Championship? Perhaps. Marc Guehi may return to Chelsea and perhaps get a move to a lower Premier League side and that would be a void that would need filling at the back for Swansea, and Pierre could fit that bill.
