West Ham have had another contested season in the Premier League.

David Moyes replaced Manuel Pelligrini earlier in the season, but his bid for Premier League survival hasn't quite gone to plan. His side sit in 16th-place of the table, level on points with 18th-place Bournemouth and facing the very real threat of relegation.

The final nine games of the season are crucial, but Moyes and West Ham will be looking ahead to next season anyway, and here's seven soon-to-be free agents that they could snap up in the summer:

Tottenham are set to lose a string of players on the summer, and Jan Vertonghen is one. The Belgian is now in his eighth season with Spurs but he's slowly fallen out of contention under Jose Mourinho. Spurs plan to extend his stay but Vertonghen seems unsure, and West Ham could well offer the 33-year-old a one or two-year stay at the club.

Adam Lallana is already attracting the attention of Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers, but he could be a good fit for the Hammers too. Moyes has some good creative players at his disposal - the likes of Felipe Anderson, Manuel Lanzini and January signing Jarrod Bowen - but the likes of Anderson and Lanzini have been teetering on the exit door for some time, and Lallana could be the ideal replacement.

Another suitable replacement for any attacking departures could be Chelsea's Willian. The Brazilian looks set for a move to either Arsenal or Tottenham as his Chelsea contract draws to an end, despite Frank Lampard's pleas to extend it. West Ham have the resources to accommodate Willian, but it would take a lot of tempting to pry him from the North London clubs.

Bournemouth could be heading into the Championship next season, and they could lose some of their star players along the way. One who's waiting on extending his soon-to-expire contract at the club is Ryan Fraser. The winger was attracting the attention of Liverpool earlier in the season, and the Reds might move again in the summer. West Ham though could be a better fit for the 26-year-old, with more game-time likely available.

The Manchester City man has been widely regarded as one of the best creative midfielders in the recent Premier League era, but he's set to depart when the season's concluded. There's going to be plenty of teams after the 34-year-old, who in 19 Premier League games this season has shown that he's still capable of cutting it in the top-flight. But coming from City, West Ham could well be priced out of this one.

Mario Gotze is due to leave Dortmund in the summer. He's gone from national hero to outcast in the space of six years but the 28-year-old could still have plenty to offer, and he could be looking at making his Premier League debut in the summer. He's likely a high-earner at Dortmund so that could put West Ham off, but this signing would no doubt be an exciting one for fans.

This might be seen as more of a back-up signing, but if West Ham can get Giacomo Bonaventura on a one or two-year contract, and on a fair wage, then it could prove to be a really useful signing. He's been with Milan for the past six years and was once an important member of the first-team, but he's since dropped down the pecking order. He's not played in England before, and he could be looking for a point to prove.
