Blackburn Rovers will be hoping to secure a place in the play-offs when the Championship gets back underway.

Tony Mowbray's side have shown their quality this term and the Rovers boss will, without doubt, be looking to add some reinforcements in the summer to help them improve again next year.

The upcoming transfer window looks set to be an unusual one given the delay to the season but Blackburn will want to ensure they do some smart business to keep their momentum going into the 2020/21 campaign.

With that in mind, we've outlined seven Premier League outcasts that they should try to land this summer...

The 23-year-old joined Burnley in the summer and has found opportunities extremely hard to come by. Peacock-Farrell is yet to appear once for his new side and with Nick Pope having cemented his place as their number one he may be looking elsewhere for opportunities.

With Christian Walton set to return to Brighton at the end of his loan deal, Rovers will be in the market for a new goalkeeper.

Centre-back will also be a position of need for Rovers in the summer, with Tosin Adarabioyo set to return to Manchester City.

Chester will be a free agent at the end of the season and with his huge amount of experience, could be a very smart addition for the North West club.

Another central defender, Gibson's time at Burnley has been a huge disappointment so far – bringing just six appearances in nearly two years.

The 27-year-old may be looking to leave the club this summer and Blackburn could look to take advantage of that.

The centre-back has been out of favour at Norwich City this term and maybe be off to pastures new in the upcoming window.

As previously mentioned, central defence is an area Rovers will likely look to bolster and Klose would be a good option.

The last few years have not been easy for Hart but he is set to become a free agent this summer and may be open to a move to Ewood Park.

With Rovers likely on the lookout for a goalkeeper, the 33-year-old could be a fantastic signing and his experience would be hugely valuable.

The experienced defender's current deal at Crystal Palace is up in the summer and Blackburn may be able to convince him that Ewood Park is the right next step.

The 33-year-old may only be a short-term fix but he could be a very useful player for Mowbray to have in his squad.

The 31-year-old has found opportunities hard to come by at the Amex in recent years, making just 11 appearances since arriving in 2018.

Button has proven his quality in the Championship in the past, having made 173 appearances in the division, and could be the safe pair of hands that Blackburn should be looking for.
