Blackburn Rovers could be set for an interesting January transfer window ahead, as they look to make the necessary additions to their squad, in order to challenge for promotion into the Premier League.

The Lancashire-based side are currently sat 12th in the second-tier standings, and will fancy their chances of challenging for a top-six finish this term.

Tony Mowbray has had to deal with injuries to key players though, with the likes of Bradley Dack only just returning to match fitness in recent weeks, although he is still yet to feature in the first-team this season.

There are plenty of players that could be on Blackburn's wish-list in the New Year as well, as they look to find regular game time this term.

We take a look at SEVEN players who should on Blackburn's transfer radar as the January transfer window edges closer to opening.

Find out who they are, on the next few pages....

Smith Rowe spent last year's campaign on loan with Huddersfield Town, and caught the eye with a number of impressive performances for the Terriers.

He has since struggled for game time with the Gunners on his return, and could be tempted by a loan move back into the Championship, as he looks to further his development in senior football.

Hause is another player that has found game time hard to come by in the Premier League this season.

The defender is still with Aston Villa, but has only made three EFL Cup appearances this term, and is yet to feature in their league campaign.

He could certainly add much-needed quality to the Blackburn Rovers defence if he arrived at Ewood Park.

Roberts has previously been linked with a move to Derby County, but a move failed to materialise in the summer transfer window for one reason or another.

The Welsh international is highly unlikely to be a regular starter for Leeds United in the Premier League this season, and will surely be tempted by a move elsewhere in the New Year if that is to remain the case in the coming weeks.

Grant is out-of-contract in the summer of 2021, although he could sign a new deal with Lincoln City in the near future.

The midfielder has played a key role in helping the Imps challenge for promotion into the Championship. But with his contract expiring in the summer, Blackburn should certainly try and tempt him with a move to Ewood Park, as they could benefit from having depth in their midfield options.

He has been linked with a move to the likes of Norwich City, Reading and Brentford earlier this year according to TEAMtalk.

Hector signed for Fulham last season, but has struggled to adjust to the demands of Premier League football with the Cottagers.

He started for Scott Parker's side in the early stages of this year's campaign, but has struggled for regular minutes in recent weeks.

Hector has impressed in the Championship though, having played for the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Reading in the past at this level.

Longstaff's short-term future seems as though it's going to be away from Newcastle United, with the midfielder already being linked with a loan move away from the club in January.

According to Chronicle Live, Longstaff is wanted by the likes of Nottingham Forest and Derby County, although it remains to be seen as to who the favourite is to land his signature.

Jones would be no stranger to Ewood Park if he signed for the club, having left Blackburn in favour of a move to Manchester United back in 2011.

The central defender has gone on to make 224 appearances for the Red Devils in total, but is yet to feature at all for them this season.

He has previously been linked with a move to Derby County and Middlesbrough, but Blackburn should certainly consider a move for a defender of his experience in January.
