Nottingham Forest will be looking to put the disappointment of missing out on automatic promotion to the Premier League behind them this weekend when they take on Hull City in the Championship.

The Reds suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of AFC Bournemouth which resulted in Scott Parker's side securing a top-two finish in the second-tier standings.

Having already secured a place in the play-offs, it will be intriguing to see how Forest will cope in this competition which is famous for its drama.

The Reds' transfer activity this summer will be largely dictated by what division they find themselves in next season.

Whereas Forest will be able to be more ambitious when it comes to targeting players if they are preparing for life in the top-flight, they may find it difficult to keep hold of some of their key individuals if they are facing another year of Championship football.

Here, we have decided to take a look at seven Forest transfer dealings we could see happen as soon as next month...

Before suffering a season-ending injury, Keinan Davis managed to produce a host of impressive performances for Forest.

Signed on loan from Aston Villa in January, the forward netted five goals and provided two assists in 15 appearances for the Reds in the Championship.

Davis recently admitted that he would be willing to extend his stay at Forest past the summer.

Promotion to the top-flight could provide the Reds with the funds that they need to seal a permanent deal for the 24-year-old.

Gaetan Bong would have been hoping to feature regularly for Forest in the Championship during the current campaign.

However, the left-back has been limited to just seven appearances at this level due to the presence of Max Lowe and Jack Colback.

Whenever he has been given the chance to showcase his ability, Bong has failed to impress as he is currently averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.38 in the second-tier.

With Bong's contract set to expire this summer, it wouldn't be at all surprising if Forest part ways with him.

Lewis Grabban's deal at Forest is also set to reach a crescendo in June and a decision is not set to be made on his future until after the 2021/22 campaign ends.

The 34-year-old has demonstrated that he is still more than capable of competing in the second-tier this season as he has managed to find the back of the net on 12 occasions in 32 appearances.

If the Reds miss out on promotion to the top-flight, handing Grabban a new short-term contract may turn out to be a wise move as he possesses a wealth of experience at this level.

Carl Jenkinson has ultimately failed to live up to expectations at Forest since joining the club in 2019.

Before sealing a loan switch to Melbourne City earlier this year, the right-back only managed to make 15 appearances for the Reds in all competitions.

With Jenkinson's contract set to expire in June, Forest may feel as if it is time to cut ties with the former Arsenal man who has played 17 games in the A-League this year.

Nuno Da Costa joined Forest in 2020 following a three year stint at Strasbourg in which he scored 17 goals for the club.

The forward has been unable to replicate these goal-scoring escapades at the City Ground as during the 14 games that he has played for the Reds, he has failed to find the back of the net.

Loaned out to SM Caen last year, Da Costa is set to return to Forest in June.

When you consider that the 31-year-old's deal with the Reds is set to run until 2023, this summer represents the perfect opportunity to sell him for a reasonable fee.

Mohamed Drager was signed by Forest during the previous summer transfer window from Olympiacos.

After failing to make a single appearance for the Reds in the first half of the campaign, the defender was loaned out to FC Luzern earlier this year.

When Drager returns to the City Ground this summer, it wouldn't be at all surprising if the club allows him to make a permanent exit from the club as he is unlikely to force his way into contention for a starting role.

Another player who could be allowed to move on to pastures new in the not-too-distant future is Lyle Taylor who is currently on loan at Birmingham City.

The forward has only managed to show glimpses of his talent during his time at Forest as he has scored eight goals in 61 appearances for the club in all competitions.

With his contract set to run until 2023, Taylor could be sold for a reasonable amount of money if the Reds are willing to part ways with him.
