You do get the feeling that Wolves' seemingly inevitable promotion will mark the beginning of something different to most new chapters when sides reach the top flight.

It'll be just the same as any promotion in many ways, of course, as they return to the Premier League, but few sides have ever arrived in the promised land with such financial backing, such connections, such ambition and such a pre-assembled side chock full of ability.

Of course, Wolves aren't going to be title challengers next season, but they'll be aiming for more than just safety next year and, with the resources and connections they have, their summer signings need to reflect that yet again.

With that said, then, we think an ambitious move for the explosive Xherdan Shaqiri would really get people talking:

Stoke are well in the relegation mire this year and, if they go down, the Swiss will surely want a move away.

He's good enough for most sides outside the top six and, in truth, Wolves will feel as though being the best of the rest is their first target in the Premier League.

What they need, then, is to sign proven, class top flight performers and Shaqiri is certainly one. The Championship side finds itself in a position where, financially, they can already compete for these players with many clubs in the league above and, as soon as the limiting factor of being in the second tier is negated, they'll really start flexing their muscles.
