Aston Villa host Wolves tomorrow in what is a massive West Midlands derby for both clubs.

Not only is there local bragging rights up for grabs but it will play a big part in determining who will win promotion to the Premier League.

Leaders Wolves know victory for them will create a 13-point gap over their rivals and will mean they have one foot firmly in the top-flight.

Whereas, whilst Villa’s immediate concern will be catching Cardiff who are four points ahead of them, they can drag Wolves back into a title race if their lead is reduced to seven.

Given the talent that both squads have it should be a quality game played in front of a red-hot atmosphere and here at FLW we’ve decided to produce a combined XI ahead of the big game.

Make sure you let us know what your team would be, Villa and Wolves fans!

Despite Wolves’ excellent defensive record, John Ruddy hasn’t been convincing at times this season, whereas there’s a strong case to say Johnstone is the outstanding goalkeeper in the division.

This was a real tough decision as Ahmed Elmohamady has had a strong season but Matt Doherty just pips him because of his all-round game and energy going forward.

Both sides boast a strong defence but Boly is the pick of the bunch. With power, pace and great technique, the Championship has looked too easy at times for the big man.

James Chester can feel aggrieved as he has played very well this season, along with Connor Coady, but Terry gets the nod.

The ex-Chelsea man has dropped down a level but taken it in his stride and his leadership has been key to Villa’s revival.

Douglas has the joint-most assists in the league and is a major threat with his set-pieces. An easy decision.

Another easy call. The Portuguese international is the best midfielder in the league – by some distance. His passing has been remarkable and he controls games for the league leaders.

This was a very tough call, with both sides having players who came close. However, with nine goals from midfield it’s very hard to ignore Hourihane.

The ex-Barnsley man has delivered in vital moments for Steve Bruce and he’ll expect another big contribution from the Irishman against Wolves.

Another real close call as Robert Snodrass has made a significant impact at Villa with seven goals from out wide. But so has Cavaleiro at Wolves, with eight goals and ten assists this season.

He just gets the nod as he is more explosive and unpredictable when on the ball.

Arguably the best player in the league. As with Neves, picking Jota was easy as he walks into any team in the division.

Villa know all about him following his superb performance in the game at Molineux in October.

If Jota is Wolves’ main man in the attacking positions, Grealish is Villa’s.

He has transformed the side since returning from injury and since he has played they have form that would be on a par with their rivals. A class player.

Given the amount of quality both have in attacking midfields, it’s surprising that the strikers aren’t really on the same level.

Leo Bonatini hasn’t scored since December whilst Benik Afobe doesn’t play often enough to make this side. For Villa, Hogan has had his own struggles in front of goal too.

Therefore, Grabban is the obvious man to lead the line for this team as with 15 in 24 for both Sunderland and Villa, he has been prolific.
