As the Sky Bet Championship run-in approaches, all eyes are turning to the promotion race as a host of teams look to make it to the Premier League next season.

Whilst that battle will get the bulk of the coverage, there are clubs competing for survival in the Championship.

Amongst those are Ipswich Town, Bolton Wanderers, Rotherham United, Reading, Millwall and Wigan Athletic, who occupy the bottom six places in the Championship table at this stage.

In our latest FLW XI feature, we’ve opted to take a look at the best ‘relegation XI’ we believe is on show in the Championship this season:

In goal we’ve opted for recent Reading signing, Emi Martinez, who is at the Madejski on loan from Arsenal.

Reece James, on loan at Wigan from Chelsea, is our right-back, with Ipswich Town’s Jonas Knudsen on the opposite side – whilst the left-back isn’t in the best form this season, we’ve seen his quality before.

The same could be said for Liam Moore at Reading, with the former Leicester City man joined by Jake Cooper of Millwall in the centre of our defence.

Ahead of them is Millwall’s Jed Wallace, Rotherham’s Will Vaulks and Reading’s Andy Rinohmota – three players who will surely be playing Championship football next season, whatever their club’s fate is.

In an attacking midfield role we’ve gone with Nick Powell despite his injury troubles, with the Wigan playmaker a real talented operator.

Finally, in attack, we’ve got Millwall’s Lee Gregory, the scorer of seven goals this season, alongside Nelson Oliveira, the man tasked with guiding Reading to safety.
