After a successful start to the season saw Bristol City in and around the automatic promotion places, the Robins hit a rocky patch.

Five matches without a win saw them slip out of the top-six entirely and back into the mid-table madness of the Championship.

But luckily, and thanks to an incredibly tight league, Lee Johnson's side have been able to bounce back into promotion contention with two wins in the last week.

Saturday saw a 1-0 win away to Brentford in which Niclas Eliasson was to thank for his late winner, and their match at home to Hull City on Wednesday night followed a similar story.

This time it was the turn of Famara Diedhiou to pop-up with the late winner to send the home fans crazy.

It marked an impressive return to the starting line-up for the Senegalese striker, who was a constant menace to the Tigers' back-line.

He won a thoroughly impressive seven aerial duels at Ashton Gate, taking on six shots in the process, as he looked to regain a much-needed lethal streak that the Robins have been missing for a while.

His goal was well poached when the chance came, heading in after the ball had been spilt back into the Hull penalty area.

The stats do still show some room for improvement, though.

Whilst it is harder to get a high pass success percentage, 58% is far too low and shows that there is still work to do in terms of how he links up with his fellow attackers.

But on the whole, it was a very impressive showing from the 25-year-old and he, along with the Ashton Gate faithful, will be hoping he can build on this and hopefully score many more than the three goals he now has.
