This season in the Championship there have been many stand-out performers and as we come to the end of the campaign, we can reflect on the performances we've witnessed over the past eight months or so.

The top two sides, Brighton and Newcastle, seem to have done enough at this stage for promotion to the top flight and that's a result of players from the entirety of the squad pitching in.

But there are two specific players that I want to focus on in this article: Anthony Knockaert and Matt Ritchie.

Both have had incredible seasons out wide for their sides and without them in the squad, their respective clubs may have seen a different outcome to their season.

£5.95m-rated Anthony Knockaert has hit the form of his life under Chris Hughton this season, netting an incredible 13 goals from the wing and claiming a further 9 assists.

His performances were judged to have been the best of anybody in the division as he was recently awarded with the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Year award.

£7.65m-rated Matt Ritchie, on the other hand, has also enjoyed a fruitful time back in the Championship, boasting very similar stats to Knockaert, with 11 goals and 8 assists.

It's certainly not the first time we've seen Ritchie on top form as he's shown what a good player he is even at the highest level.

Both are undoubtedly incredible players but what we want to know is who is better? Whether you're a Newcastle fan, Brighton fan or just a neutral, please get involved in the debate by voting below!
