Middlesbrough entertain Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend in what is on of the Sky Bet Championship’s standout fixtures over the Easter period.

Both Boro and Wolves have promotion ambitions ahead of the run-in, with the two clubs currently occupying a place in the top-six ahead of this weekend.

Of course, Wolves are the Championship’s runaway leaders, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side already having one foot in the Premier League and looking to secure a top-flight return as soon as possible ahead of the final eight fixtures of the season.

Boro held ambitions of challenging for the title at the start of the season, but it appears that Tony Pulis’ side will have to settle for promotion via the play-offs, with the Teessiders looking to strengthen their grip on sixth in the coming weeks.

Ruddy has been exceptional in goal for Wolves this season, edging Darren Randolph out of this XI.

As Wolves lead the Championship, we have opted to go for their favoured 3-4-3 formation, which sees Boro’s Gibson feature in a back three.

Coady has captained Wolves through their best parts of the season, transforming himself into a fine central defender along the way.

Boly has been a rock for Wolves this season, providing immense quality in defence.

Whilst Wolves’ attacking players take a lot of credit, you can’t underestimate how dangerous their wing-backs are going forwards.

Doherty is an automatic pick.

Neves is the Championship’s best central midfielder, he has been terrific for Wolves.

Boro have some other good options in central midfield, as do Wolves.

However, Leadbitter has proved how important he is to Boro this season, stepping up when his side really needed him.

Like Doherty on the other side, Douglas is one of Wolves’ key attacking outlets and another automatic pick.

£7.2m-rated Traore hasn’t done it as consistently as Ivan Cavaleiro this season, but he is one of the Championship’s most dangerous players when he’s on the top of his game.

Wolves have two very good options in Leo Bonatini and Benik Afobe, however, Bamford’s form heading into the international break was superb.

Eight goals in his last six appearances is a big return.

Jota has been terrific this season for Wolves, and along with Neves and Boly, has really helped to transform the club into a side worthy of playing Premier League football.
