The young defender started his playing career at Premier league giant's, Manchester United. After spending nine years coming through the ranks at the Red Devils, Brown went on loan to Bradford City for a month making three appearances.

In 2011, Brown returned to Yorkshire on a loan spell. This time at Doncaster Rovers, however, he returned to his parent club after just three appearances.

After managing to produce a handful of impressive displays for the reserve side, Brown earnt himself a spot on the bench against Leeds United in the League Cup.

Brown then went onto have loan spells at Oldham Athletic, Coventry and Ipswich making 22 appearances across the three clubs. Following these loan spells, Manchester United decided Reece was not to follow in his brother's footsteps, Wes Brown, and released him from the club at the end of the 2012-2013 season.

Later on in the summer of 2013, Watford signed the in-experienced defender on a two-year-deal, and Brown made his only appearance against Reading as a substitute on 17th August.

After spending the most-part of the season out of favour, Brown joined Carlisle United on loan in March 2014 and made 12 appearances for the Cumbrians.

In July 2014, Barnsley signed Brown for an undisclosed fee on a one-year deal, and after making 13 appearances for the Yorkshire outfit Brown was released in June 2015.

FLW has been informed by a club insider at Bury, that Brown has been training with the Shakers for a number of weeks and travelled on the pre-season tour to Tenerife.

Flitcroft will most likely regard Reece Brown as a potential back-up for established defender, Peter Clarke, and club captain, Nathan Cameron.
