Millwall were minutes away becoming the first team to take three points off Leeds United this season in a frenetic encounter at The Den on Saturday afternoon.

Neil Harris’ men were the better side for large spells in what was a keenly contested fixture at as the home produced a sell-out in London for the clash of the weekend.

Jack Harrison restored parity in the 89th minute after the London club took the lead early in the second half.

After three consecutive defeats, the rot was stopped with an impressive draw over Marcelo Bielsa’s men.

One man that starred for the Lions was Jed Wallace.

By his own admittance, he has not been up to the standard he set last season, but his performance against the Whites went some way to finding his form after a poor personal start to the new season.

Wallace got his first goal of the campaign in the 56th minute when he converted Jake Cooper’s flick-on from debutant Ryan Leonard’s long throw-in.

The ball kissed the post before crossing the line to send the home fans into delirium.

His goal was the cherry on the cake of an impressive solo performance.

Wallace managed three shots in the 90 minutes that he was on the pitch, and won four tackles when transitioning to the defensive aspect of his game.

After six poor performances in the league, the winger had a point to prove and having the best game possible against Leeds to do so, Wallace produced a virtuoso performance.

He made three key passes in the afternoon as he drove his side forward to attack an average looking Leeds side.

The 24-year-old made 22 passes during the afternoon and completed 68 per cent of those.

Wallace was vital in the draw that could have ended in all three points, and the wide man will be hoping to take the confidence into Wednesday night’s clash with Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road in Millwall’s next Championship fixture.
