Aston Villa failed to win another game this past weekend, drawing with Blackburn Rovers on Saturday evening.

The stalemate made it a run of five league games without a win for Steve Bruce, having not picked up a three-point haul since the narrow win over Wigan back at the start of August.

Four draws and one defeat have consigned Villa to a mid-table position after seven games.

Two wins all season for a side who were tipped for promotion seems to have ominous consequences.

So having said that, we here at FLW, took to Twitter to ask the Aston Villa supporters if they felt it was time to sack Steve Bruce.

It was a landslide from the fans who were polled, with 68% of the vote feeling now is the time for Bruce to have his contract with the club terminated after their recent run.

Bruce’s job was in doubt in the summer with new investment and new owners sounding out Thierry Henry as a potential replacement.

That was not forthcoming, but now it seems the majority of these Villa fans want the Villa boss to be removed from his position.

Conversely, 32% of the voters feel that Bruce is still the right man for the job, despite their current dip in form.

All clubs go through the season with a bad spell, and this looks like it is Villa's now.

Some would argue it is better to get it out the way at the start of the season before results become critical towards the business end of the campaign.

Time will tell if Bruce remains at Villa beyond this week, month, or season. One thing that is for sure is that Villa need to find a win and quick if they are to have an upturn in form and stop the rot.
