Leeds United will surely be planning for their summer activities at the moment as they have very little left to play for this season.

This year has proved to be a bit of a damp squib after they started the campaign on fire and went top of the league sparking talk of a return to the top flight at last.

Paul Heckingbottom, then, has some calls to make in the summer over certain players' futures and Luke Murphy surely falls into that category as we take a look at him in our latest FLW Spotlight piece:

The 28-year-old has been one of Burton's most consistent performers in the middle of the park and has been a regular but he'll surely want to know exactly where he stands come this year's off-season.

The Whites have the likes of Eunan O'Kane, Ronaldo Vieira, Mateusz Klich, Kalvin Phillips, Adam Forshaw and the incoming Yosuke Ideguchi all in that central role whilst you'd imagine Hecky will want to look at other options there too.

The boss has said he wants to give everyone a chance and so Murphy should get that too, but after having a year of regular football he surely won't want to be a bit-part player once again.

Indeed, he's not a young player, he needs to be playing all the time, and so whilst Leeds might give him a chance in pre-season, he should perhaps look to force a move permanently if he's not guaranteed minutes.

It's a decision that he'll need to think through carefully.
