Derby County are currently in the Championship play-off places and will be looking to add to their squad in January so that they can push on and mount a serious, sustained promotion push towards the Premier League.

To do that, and to do it effectively, Frank Lampard will be compiling a list of players he would wish to have at the club, and those would be players who would be able to improve the Rams and get them to the next level.

One player who is reportedly high on the list, is Chelsea’s Lucas Piazon, according to Yahoo Esportes.

Piazon has been at Chelsea since 2012 but has hardly featured for the Blues, having gone out on loan to Malaga, Vitesse, Eintracht Frankfurt, Reading and Fulham over the last five seasons.

Last year he was at Craven Cottage as the London club won promotion back to the Premier League and could well be an option for Derby who have ambitions of joining the likes of Fulham and Chelsea in the top-tier next season.

With that said we asked Rams fans if they would welcome the signing of the 24-year-old.

In what was a close-run vote, 65 per cent of the Derby supporters who voted would welcome the addition of Piazon from Chelsea.

The player and the Derby boss know one another from their time at Stamford Bridge together, and that could be a critical factor in getting a deal of this kind over the line.

He has the promotion credentials having gone up with Fulham last year and starring for them the year before, too.

Conversely, 35 per cent feel it would be a move that would not benefit the club with the minority not welcoming the potential transfer.

With Mason Mount, Harry Wilson and Tom Huddlestone, to name just a few, the Rams are stacked in the middle third of the pitch and adding Piazon could end up seeing the Championship club stockpile midfielders.

It all remains to be seen what materialises in the New Year when the transfer window opens once more, but from the result, it's clear most of the Derby fans who voted would be happy with the arrival of Piazon if it happens.
