Ben Brereton made his debut for new side Blackburn Rovers at the weekend in the defeat to Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

The striker sealed a loan move to Ewood Park with a deal becoming permanent in January for a reported fee worth up to £7million.

Coming on in the 56th minute, the 19-year-old was introduced for the final 35 minutes with his new side 2-1 down.

The game eventually finished in a 4-1 reverse, heading into the international break.

Despite falling to defeat last weekend, Brereton was impressive during his first outing for Rovers and could be pushing for a start next weekend when they host Aston Villa.

With that said, here at FLW, we asked Blackburn Rovers supporters if they thought Tony Mowbray should start the striker in their next league fixture.

Although not a landslide, the majority of Blackburn fans feel that Mowbray should indeed start Brereton at Ewood Park when they face Aston Villa next weekend, with 64 per cent felt a starting berth is deserved.

Conversely, only 36 per cent felt that the 19-year-old had not done enough yet to warrant a place in the starting XI for the visit of Steve Bruce's men on September 15.

It remains to be seen, of course, and should Brereton impress in training, he could well start, but that will all be revealed at 2pm next Saturday afternoon.
