Ipswich Town are looking set for a mid-table finish but they'll certainly be keen to at least finish the campaign strongly.

The men from Portman Road have had a campaign where things have threatened to look good but inconsistency has blighted them - as well as the ongoing saga with Mick McCarthy.

That is at an end now, though, with Big Mick off in the summer and it remains to be seen who the club can bring in as look to get back into the top flight at long last.

With that said, though, the new man is surely going to want to bring in new players and they're going to have to be impressive stars in order to help them earn promotion...

Marcus Maddison is a bright player in League One and surely looks good enough to get into the second tier before too long.

He's 24-years-old so he is approaching his prime and would add the kind of spark in between the lines that might go missing if Bersant Celina moves on.

He's relatively local at Peterborough, too, so it would be a move you could see happening.

Jordan Hugill might cost a bit to get from West Ham but he'd surely be up for a move.

It hasn't worked for the Hammers so far since his move in January from Preston and that is something that could lead the club being willing to let him move on in the summer.

Ipswich haven't exactly gone big in windows gone by but the need to do so is increasing if they want a top six place.

£630k-rated Josh Windass has had a good campaign for Rangers and would certainly be an intriguing signing if he was to arrive.

He's not an out and out striker but more likes to play just in behind and work hard through the middle or down the channels.

He's the sort of player that could potentially dovetail nicely with Martyn Waghorn and that would prove pretty devastating.

Luke Berry is a player surely destined for higher up than where he is right now.

The Luton Town midfielder scores goals for fun and can run games from the middle of the park making him a very attractive potential acquisition.

It would be a slight risk for the men from Suffolk to take him on but he looks a top talent and one that could have a great impact.

Jack Marriott needs no introduction and has been one of the stars of the Football League season this year.

He's scored a hat-full of goals so far this season for Peterborough United and would surely excel at Championship level.

Regardless of Posh going up he should be in the second tier and he is the kind of goal-scorer that could transform the men from Portman Road.
