Aston Villa are sure to have a tough summer as they are faced with selling their better players to ease their financial crisis.

Jack Grealish is one who is sure to leave and another is James Chester. Should the Welshman leave it will mean Steve Bruce is very short of options in defence after John Terry was released as well.

Therefore, he will be in the market for a centre-back and one man he could move for is Wigan's Dan Burn.

The giant centre-back enjoyed a fine season for the Latics, starring as they won promotion back to the Championship and went on an impressive FA Cup run that included beating Manchester City.

Despite his lack of pace, Burn reads the game very well and his height means he is always capable of dominating strikers in the air.

As our graphic shows, he is also a major threat in the other box, weighing in with five goals in the promotion campaign.

After struggling to establish himself as a regular at Fulham as a youngster, the 26-year-old has developed significantly in the past few years at Wigan.

As well as improving Villa's weak defence, Burn is also a leader and would be a vocal figure at the back which is key for Bruce after losing influential figures like Terry and potentially Chester.

It's going to be a new-look Villa side that lines up in August and Burn would be the ideal man to start in defence.
