Aston Villa have had a very tough summer as they gear up for another season in the Championship.

The West Midlands side, who lost the play-off final to Fulham in May, are in serious financial difficulty and their problems have been well-documented.

HMRC served the club with a winding-up order and it's widely accepted that they will have to sell their best players ahead of the new season.

With the big kick-off just a month away, there is huge uncertainty around the club and man fans will have major worries about what the future could hold.

Here we look at six things the supporters are thinking right now...

The major issue on all fans minds at the minute is what's happening with the club. It's quite clear that investment is needed but Xia doesn't seem to want to sell.

This has dragged on for a few weeks now and needs resolving as their long-term future seems uncertain.

Whilst issues surrounding the club are obviously more important, there could still be doubts about Bruce.

After all, his aim was to win promotion last season and he failed. Additionally, the club are going to have to operate in a new way now and Bruce might not be the best man for the job.

It's inevitable that Jack Grealish will leave and even though it's a major blow for fans, it should mean O'Hare gets a real chance.

The youngster has the ability and talent to star in the Championship and should get a chance to prove that next season.

It's known that key players need to be sold but fans will want to know how much, if any, can be used for new players.

Clearly, the side are going to be short in key areas and it will be interesting to see how much the manager gets to spend following sales.

Key players have to leave and Grealish will command the biggest fee so it's going to be impossible to keep the attacking midfielder.

However, if possible, they need to do all they can to keep Chester as he is a quality player at this level.

If plenty of players do leave, Villa do have academy graduates ready to step in.

We've mentioned O'Hare and there's Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, Keinan Davis and Andre Green who are just three players ready to step in.
