Stoke City have had a frustrating season so far.

O'Neill will be looking to stamp his authority on the club in the coming weeks and months, and he will be looking at all of the players in his squad to see which ones he believes have a future at the club.

Some of Stoke's youth players could therefore be given the chance to impress O'Neill in the coming weeks and months, and the Potters do have a lot of talent coming through their youth ranks at the moment, with some of those players having the potential to break into the senior side.

With that in mind we take a look at SIX  Stoke wonderkids you need to know about...

Julien Ngoy has demonstrated in glimpses with both Stoke's youth teams and during loan spells at Walsall and Grasshopper Zurich over the last two seasons his potential to make an impact on the first team at the Bet 365 Stadium.

The 22-year-old attacker offers plenty of pace and athleticism in the final third and it will be interesting to see whether Michael O'Neill offers him his first team chance with the Potters this season.

Ash Kigbu has been in impressive form the Potters in the Premier League 2 Division 2 so far this season, with the promising centre-back making seven appearances so far and even registering his first goal for the Potters' youth side.

Kigbu, who arrived at the Bet365 Stadium in the summer from Austrian side Wolfsberger has vast amounts of potential to develop into a real commanding presence at the heart of the Potters' defence, and if he continues his current form for the club's Under 23s it might not be long until he is given some first team minutes.

Lasse Sorensen is another player in Stoke's Under 23s side that has vast potential to develop into a key performer for the potters in the coming seasons, with the 20-year-old midfielder offering real quality in possession as well as the ability to break up play at the heart of midfield.

Sorensen is a player that O'Neill will certainly be monitoring over the next few weeks and months as he looks to assess the options available to him, and the midfielder could well be challenging for first team minutes in the near future.

Another Stoke player who has been showing his potential in Stoke's youth teams so far this season is Jake Dunwoody, with the midfielder establishing himself as a key part of the Potters' Under 23s side, scoring three goals in ten appearances so far this campaign.

The 21-year-old has already managed to gain first team experience out on loan at non league Curzon Ashton in the 2017/18 season, and given his form so far this term could be another play for O'Neill to keep an eye on.

James Jennings is another player with a lot of potential in Stoke's youth sides, having averaged a goal every 145 minutes for the Potter's in the U18 Premier League. The striker has shown a real composure in front of goal at times and is one to watch out for in the next few years.

Gabriel Kyeremateng is another one of Stoke's promising youth forwards, with the 20-year-old scoring four goals in eight games so far this season in the Premier League 2 Division 2, and he could be another one to watch out for in terms of breaking into O'Neill's plans in the near future
