Gillingham will be looking to finish as high as possible in League One, if and when the season resumes, as they look to finish strongly under Steve Evans.

A play-off place is not out of the question just yet, though it would take quite the run of form for them to steal into the top six and that is what Evans will be planning for.

He'll be looking for his players to perform a bit better than the following six, then, as we look back at some of the worst signings the Gills have made...

Mark McCammon was a striker but never really had a prolific spell at any of the clubs he played for - including Gillingham.

He scored just a handful of times for the Gills during a three-year spell at the club.

Kelvin Jack certainly had a varied playing career - featuring very little for a number of the sides he was with in the UK after arriving from Trinidad and Tobago.

Among it, a two-year spell at Gillingham where he didn't even make it to double figures for appearances.

He did feature for Trinidad and Tobago in the 2006 World Cup, though...

Thurgood has largely played in non-league football for the likes of Thurrock and Grays Athletic.

He was at Gillingham for a shot in the Football League, but it never really worked.

He signed from Grays Athletic, and returned there after only a handful of appearances for the Gills.

Francis Joseph scored one goal in 18 games during a brief spell at the club as a striker back in the late 80s.

He went on to play for the likes of Fulham and Barnet - though he featured little.

Gills broke their signing record to bring in Mark Cooper in 1987 from Tottenham but things did not work out for him.

He later played for Leyton Orient and Barnet but it was the size of the fee at the time when he arrived that means this is looked back on as a failed transfer.

Bertrand Bossu played four times for Gillingham during a two-year period at the club - it was hardly the stuff of legend.

Walsall, Aberdeen and Crewe were among the sides he was on the books at in his career as well, though he didn't play much for them either.
