It's been a season of ups and downs for AFC Wimbledon, who will be hoping they can retain their status as a League One club this term.

The Dons are currently playing their football in the third tier of English football, and are sat precariously above the relegation zone.

We take a look at SIX of the worst ever AFC Wimbledon signings we've seen over the years.

Find out who they are, on the next page....

Darko signed for AFC Wimbledon in 2012 on a loan deal from Cardiff City, but didn't make the impact he would have originally hoped to with the Dons.

He did help them retain their Football League status, but was released by Cardiff at the end of that season.

Darko is now playing his football for non-league side Chatham Town.

Cummings was hugely impressive with AFC Bournemouth earlier in his career, but had a spell to forget with AFC Wimbledon when he moved to them back in the summer of 2012.

He only made nine appearances for the Dons though, and was released just a year later, in what was certainly a forgetful spell with the club.

McNaughton originally signed for the Dons in 2011 on loan from West Ham United.

He then made the permanent move to AFC Wimbledon in January 2012, before moving to Kingstonian in February 2013 after a successful loan spell at the club.

Antwi spent two years with AFC Wimbledon, as he signed for them whilst Terry Brown was in charge of the club.

But he struggled to make a notable impact in his time with the Dons, and was released when his contract expired at the end of the 2013/14 season.

Wilson was previously on the books with Cardiff City, and featured for the Bluebird's first-team earlier in his career.

But he was sent out on loan to AFC Wimbledon on an emergency loan deal, but was involved in a social media bust-up with one of the club's supporters.

He was quoted as responding to a supporter who questioned his performances with "you're still paying to watch me every week and helping towards my wage, I'm laughing and you're losing out."

As a result, his loan deal was terminated by AFC Wimbledon.

The Berkshire-born man signed for AFC Wimbledon in the summer of 2011 after being released by Crewe Alexandra.

He missed the first 12 games of the season through injury though, and struggled to make a notable impact in his time with the club.

Mitchel-King left the club along with nine other players when his contract expired in the summer of 2013.
