Leeds United have had a whole host of players comes through the doors at Elland Road, with some much more successful than others, not helped by the largely unsuccessful string of owners.

The Whites entered the millennium fighting on all fronts for silverware, well in the title race with arch-rivals Manchester United as well as challenging in the Champions League in the early 2000s. However, over-spending in the pursuit of more glory ultimately caused the club's demise and drop down to the third tier.

With such a dramatic dip in fortunes, the club saw the standard of play drop too, seeing some questionable signings brought in on the cheap to help restore Leeds' status amongst England's elite clubs, but none have managed to lift the club back into the Premier League.

A bunch of owners and managers have tried and failed to get the club promoted again with a number of very disappointing performances coupled with that. Here, we take a look at six of the biggest flops to have played for Leeds...

Taking us back to the early Premier League years with Leeds, Tomas Brolin was very much a marquee signing when he arrived from Parma, however, he was extremely underwhelming and only made 20 appearances for the club.

He was later dubbed as one of the worst strikers in Premier League history and retired very prematurely.

The midfielder was highly regarded by Derby County before making the move to Elland Road and famously being unveiled at half-time.

Injury problems caused his career to nosedive and he was a sporadic feature for the Whites, before leaving for the Rams upon Leeds' relegation.

Nicknamed the 'shift' for his effort up front along with a lack of goals, Steve Morison arrived as part of a swap deal which saw fan-favourite Luciano Becchio move to Norwich City.

It's safe to say that Leeds weren't on the right end of this deal as Morison's form was a stark contrast to the Argentine's.

He left the club and returned to his beloved Millwall where he continued to be a thorn in the side of the Whites, much to the anger of the Leeds fans.

Once heralded as one of the wonder-kids of the Brazilian leagues with Flamengo, Adyran arrived at Leeds with lofty expectations.

However, in a turbulent 2014/15 campaign, he never scored and was more (in)famously known for his fish-like flop against Derby County following a foul.

Up next is goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald who arrived from Bundesliga club Werder Bremen and left many questioning how he managed to play in the German top-flight before this move.

His mistakes and very questionable decision-making led to him being dropped under Paul Heckingbottom for Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Most notably, a howler at QPR caused uproar when a speculative long ball bounced over his head and into the goal late on.

The final man on this list is Chelsea-loanee Izzy Brown, who signed for Leeds last season recovering from a lengthy knee injury that kept him sidelined until after the New Year.

His only impact as a Leeds United player was to balloon a late free-kick high into the Kop to all but clinch Derby's spot in the play-off final last season.
