It was a rather quiet January for all concerned with Derby County, with the club failing to make a single addition other than Wayne Rooney over the course of the month.

The Rams were linked with plenty of names, but in the end, Phillip Cocu wasn't able to bolster his squad with fresh faces, other than the signing of Rooney who agreed a pre-contract deal back in August.

Dowell, meanwhile, was arguably the most disappointing signing of the season for Derby, producing a series of disappointing performances for Cocu's side.

He turned out to be a poor signing, but he was hardly one of the worst players ever to wear the shirt.
