Things proved very flat for Sheffield United last night as they slumped to a 3-0 loss against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

The Blades remain in top six contention despite the setback but this was, unfortunately for them, a performance that highlighted the gap between them and a promotion pushing side.

For sure, it lacked the intensity that a usual Blades performance incorporates and Chris Wilder will only hope that his players can bounce back and prove that it was a one off.

Perhaps one of the slightly brighter things to take from the game, though, was Lee Evans' performance.

In truth, the midfield for the Blades largely couldn't get close to much of what Fulham wanted to do.

In our latest FLW Spotlight piece, though, it's clear that Evans did look to have an influence on the game, even if ultimately the match did not deliver the result they wanted:

For a midfielder that was part of a side that got pretty comfortably beat, the Blades' man had a very impressive pass success rate and made a good number of passes, so he was clearly trying to force the issue.

Perhaps, though, it was the small number of interceptions and tackles that highlights why the Blades lost.

The Red and White Wizards couldn't impose themselves as much as they'd have liked and this is reflected here.

By no means was Evans the only man to blame - but it's indicative of a wider trend that, last night, the team was just a bit off the pace, despite no lack of effort.
