Much of Millwall's success this term has been thanks to the form that has been displayed by 25-year-old winger Jed Wallace, with the former Portsmouth man having really stepped up his game this term under both Neil Harris and Gary Rowett.

The wide man has already racked up seven goals and four assists in his first 17 Championship outings for the Lions, thus underlining his importance to the south Londoners.

Given the level of consistency that Wallace has maintained this term, it is perhaps unsurprising that the wide man is attracting interest from afar, with the Express (1 December, page 65) reporting that Premier League Aston Villa are said to be eyeing a move for the winger in the January transfer window.

Dean Smith is said to be a big fan of the ex-Wolves man and see's the 25-year-old as the perfect candidate to supplement his attacking options.

Here we take a look at six replacements for Wallace if the winger does indeed depart the New Den in January....

Maddison has been one of League One's top performers for a number of years now and this campaign has been no different for the winger, with the 26-year-old notching an impressive nine goals and six assists.

Now may be the time for the mercurial attacker to try his hand at a higher level.

Another talented League One man who could be a suitable replacement for Wallace is Blackpool winger Sullay Kaikai, with the former Crystal Palace finally coming of age with three goals and two assists in the third division, he could soon be ready to have a crack at the Championship once more.

Sinclair would be a solid option for Millwall, with the Celtic winger having been out of favour for much of the campaign, the former Swansea City man would surely be open to a Championship move that could in theory resurrect his career.

The 25-year-old Irishman represents a good like for like replacement for Wallace, with the winger having performed well for Doncaster thus far, registering six goals and three assists in his first 15 outings.

A deal for Sadlier would represent good value for Millwall, particularly as he is entering his prime years.

One of League Two's outstanding prospects this term, Randell Williams is a player that would offer Millwall both youthful exuberance and proven creative skills.

With one goal and eight assists, Williams would certainly enhance Gary Rowett's attacking options at the New Den.

Last but by no means least is Cheltenham wide man Ryan Broom, the League Two star has notched up an impressive six goals and four assists and would almost certainly represent the cheapest potential option for Millwall on our list.

With the 23-year-old thriving in the fourth division, Rowett could well take a gamble on the young wide man in a bid to fill the void left by Wallace's potential departure.
