Plymouth Argyle have had a remarkable second half of the season that has seen the side go from relegation candidates to play-off contenders.

The Pilgrims are in ninth position but have a game in hand on their rivals that could take them into the top six.

Boss Derek Adams deserves huge credit for the turnaround in form, along with the players who have really set a high standard in recent months.

One of those is Ruben Lameiras who has established himself as a key man at Home Park.

Should the League One side fail to win promotion there is sure to be Championship interest in the player and here at FLW we think the Portuguese midfielder would be ideal for QPR.

Ian Holloway has changed the structure at Loftus Road in recent windows, focusing on bringing through young, hungry players and it’s paying off – and Lameiras would fit the bill.

Having been released from Tottenham as a kid, he will be striving to prove the doubters wrong and would relish the opportunity to play in the second tier.

The 23-year old has really improved since the start of 2018 and has scored five goals in his last nine matches.

He has the ability to beat a player and to pick a pass, which would work well in Holloway’s forward-thinking side. Plus, he is now consistently finding that end product which is vital for a player in his position.

There has been a lot of change at QPR in the past 18 months and they are certainly going in the right direction. Smart signings will be required in the summer and Lameiras is the ideal man to help the R’s improve.
