Fleetwood Town have certainly got off to a strong start under Joey Barton's guidance this season, which sees them sit third in the League One table.

They face their toughest test of the season so far on Saturday though, as they host Ipswich Town in what is set to be a closely-fought battle between the two promotion-chasing sides.

But how can we expect Barton's side to line-up against the Tractor Boys this weekend?

Find out below.....

With Fleetwood being in such a good run of form, it seems highly unlikely that Barton will look to make many changes to his starting XI.

Harry Souttar and Jimmy Dunne have formed an impressive partnership in the centre of defence for the League One outfit, and they'll be keen to make it back-to-back clean sheets after a convincing 3-0 win over Shrewsbury Town last weekend.

Lewis Coyle and Danny Andrew are yet to miss a league match for Barton's side, and they are certain starters against Ipswich on Saturday.

They're likely to be kept busy all afternoon as well, with the likes of Alan Judge and James Norwood likely to keep the Fleetwood defence on their toes throughout the course of the game.

Former Liverpool midfielder Jordan Rossiter has performed consistently to a high standard for Fleetwood this season, and is likely to be partnered by Kyle Dempsey and Paul Coutts for the fifth league game in a row.

Joey Barton has already revealed that Jack Sowerby came through a game in midweek, but it'll certainly be a tough job for the 24-year-old to be able to force his way into the starting XI whilst his side are on such a good run of form.

Ched Evans will lead the line for the Fishermen on Saturday, and will be keen to add to his goal tally this season which currently stands at two.

Barton is set to be without Conor McAleny again, although the striker has stepped up his recovery process by returning to light training this week.

But Barton could be tempted to make one change to his side, with Paddy Madden being a man in form at this moment in time.

Madden scored his sixth goal of the season just five minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute against Shrewsbury Town.

He could be in line to replace Wes Burns in the starting line-up, with the 23-year-old yet to score for Fleetwood in their league campaign so far.

It's set to be a tough test for Barton's side on the day, as Ipswich will be keen to maintain their unbeaten start to the season, which sees them sit top of the League One table.
