Derby County return to action in the Championship this weekend and will be looking to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat to rivals Nottingham Forest before the international break.

The Rams have made a bit of a slow start to the season under Cocu, but one thing the Dutchman has shown throughout his short time in charge at Pride Park is that he's prepared to give young players a chance - which is very exciting for Derby fans.

Derby have produced some very promising youngsters over the past few years and there are quite a few at the moment who are knocking on the door of the first team.

With this in mind, here are SIX Derby wonderkids that you need to know about...

Louie Sibley is a name that most Derby fans will be familiar with. The midfielder has risen through the ranks at the club and has featured for both the under-18s and the under-23s this season.

The 18-year-old scored a wonderful goal from outside the box for the under-23s earlier in the season and has registered a few assists this campaign too.

He's also made a couple of appearances for the first team this season in the Carabao Cup. He could have a very bright future ahead of him at Pride Park.

Jahmal Hector-Ingram joined Derby in August after impressing on a trail where he scored five goals in six games. The 21-year-old joined the Rams after leaving his boyhood club West Ham United.

The exciting young striker has been scoring goals for fun for the under-23s this season and also won October’s Premier League 2 player of the month award. He's another player who could have a very bright future ahead of him at Derby.

The versatile Jordan Brown is one of the most promising young talents at Derby. The 18-year-old made 24 appearances for the under-18s last season and also featured five times for the under-23s.

He's now the first-choice left-back for the under-23s, but he can also be used as a holding midfielder, a centre-back and as a right-back. He's very good on the ball but also isn't afraid to get stuck in.

Connor Dixon scored five goals in 26 appearances for Derby's under-18 last season. He's an industrious midfielder, but he also possess great technical quality.

Like many of his teammates, he's made the transition from the under-18s to the under-23s. He's now one of the first names on the teamsheet for the under-23s and could have a very big future ahead of him for the Rams.

Morgan Whittaker is a name that Derby fans will be familiar with. The 18-year-old was directly involved in 40 goals for the Rams' under-18 and under-23 sides last season - scoring 24 goals and registering 16 assists.

The forward has also represented England at various different youth levels and has already made three appearances for first team at Derby this season - including one substitute appearance in the Championship.

He's an exciting young talent, who is capable of playing both as a striker and on the wing. Cocu obviously rates him very highly for the future and he could be the next youngster at Derby to make a name for himself for the first team.

Lee Buchanan is another exciting young player that Derby fans will already be familiar with. The 18-year-old has risen through the ranks at the club and has already made an impact for the first team this season.

The defender scored a spectacular goal on his first-team debut against Scunthorpe United in the Carabao Cup in August and has made four senior appearances so far - including two Championship starts.

Buchanan can play at left-back and at centre-back, so his versatility make him a very useful player for Cocu to have in his squad. He's another youngster that could have a very bright future ahead of him at Derby.
