It's been a rather promising start to the season for Portsmouth.

Kenny Jackett's side currently sit second in the League One table, and will be hopeful of finally ending their long wait for a return to the Championship this season.

Among the many fans who will be hoping to see Pompey do that, will be a number of famous faces, with Portsmouth a club that enjoys the support of several celebrities.

Here, we've taken a look at six of those well known faces who are known to support Portsmouth, so why not see if there are any you recognise.

One figure from elsewhere in the sporting world who lends their backing to Portsmouth, is Anya Shrubsole.

The bowler was part of England's victorious Women's Cricket World Cup winning team in 2017, and is a fan of Portsmouth thanks to her father, who was born in the city.

One of the more familiar voices in English sports commentary of recent years, Ian Darke, is another supporter of Pompey.

The broadcaster, who is now most often heard lending his voice to BT Sport's coverage of the Premier League, Champions League and Europa League, has previously spoken of his addiction for watching Portsmouth.

Another broadcaster who is a fan of Portsmouth, is Fred Dinenage.

The veteran presenter and newsreader, who has appeared on television for over 50 years now, was previously a member of the board of directors at Fratton Park.

It does seem as though there is plenty of support for Portsmouth within the broadcasting world, with Tommy Boyd another supporter of the club.

A long time radio presenter, who has appeared on BBC Radio 5Live and TalkSport over the years, Boyd is a well-known supporter of Pompey.

Perhaps more famous for being a fan of Portsmouth than a famous Portsmouth fan, John Westwood is arguably the most recognisable fan in English football.

As well as his instantly noticeable attire, the Pompey supporter has even changed his middle name to "Portsmouth Football Club", and represented the team as a celebrity fan during Sky Sports' 2007 show Premier League All Stars.

A name that needs no introduction, actor Will Ferrell is another who Portsmouth can claim to have the backing of.

The legendary performer saw the club beat Tranmere 2-0 at Fratton Park last season, before meeting the team in the dressing room, having been invited by the club's owner, and Walt Disney Chief Executive, Michael Eisner.
