It's been a pleasing start to the season so far for Aston Villa.

Dean Smith's side have enjoyed some spectacular wins against the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, while their recent derby win over Wolves will certainly have pleased plenty of their fans.

Among those who will have been left satisfied by that recent victory at Molineux, are a number of famous faces, with Villa one of those clubs who are supported by a number of celebrity fans.

Here, we've taken a look at six of best known Aston Villa supporters, so why not see if there are any of these that you recognise?

One of the world's best known actors, Tom Hanks has previously spoken of his support for the Villa.

The Oscar and Emmy winner is apparently keen to attend a game at Villa Park, and was seen speaking to then Villa manager Paul Lambert when the club played MLS side Portland Timbers in a friendly several years ago.

Another actor who supports Villa is Ian Lavender, who is best known for his role as Private Pike in the iconic British sitcom Dad's Army.

Indeed, Lavender's love of Villa even played a small part in the show, with the Claret and Blue scarf worn by his character chosen because of the actor's support for the club.

Inevitably, there is plenty of support from elsewhere in the sporting world as well, including from cricket Ian Bell.

One of England's finest batters of recent years, Bell was born in the Midlands and regularly attends Villa games, even wearing the club's colours when celebrating one of his many Ashes victories.

Another sporting Villa fan, is golfer Justin Rose.

The Olympic Gold medallist and former US Open champion is reportedly a supporter of the Villa Park club, who can at times be found tweeting his support for.

There aren't many clubs who can claim to have the royal seal of approval, but Villa are one who do, thanks to the support of Prince William.

The second in line to the throne and President of the FA is a Villa fan, and has regularly spoken about his support of the club, while also attending their matches on a number of occasions, including the 2019 Championship play-off final.

As well as royal support, Villa also have backing from the political world, thanks in part to David Cameron.

The former Prime Minister has previously admitted his support for the club, and has previously been seen at their matches at times, just don't ask him about West Ham!
