Sheffield United make the short trip to Hillsborough to take on rivals Sheffield Wednesday tonight knowing they need three points to move back into the top two.
However, that will be a big ask against an Owls side that have been rejuvenated since Steve Bruce began work last month.
The former Blades boss has yet to taste defeat since he was appointed at Wednesday, with the side playing very well.
Striker Steven Fletcher has been crucial to that and he will need to be on form tonight if he is to outshine Billy Sharp, who has enjoyed an incredible season for Chris Wilder’s men.
As our graphic shows, the 33-year-old has been highly influential for Sheffield United, scoring a fantastic 22 goals so far which has been crucial to the Blades success.
He has a great ability to find space in the box thanks to his intelligent movement and he is lethal when he gets a chance in front of goal.
Clearly, he will be the man that the Owls need to stop, but it’s easier said than done.
For the hosts, Fletcher will lead the line and he must produce a big performance if they are to have any chance of collecting maximum points.
Whilst his goal record isn’t anywhere near as impressive as Sharp’s, he does head into the game in good form, scoring three in six since the new manager took over.
Additionally, he has more obvious qualities away from goal, evident by the high number of aerial duels he wins.
There is every chance the Owls will be pinned back at times tonight and having a strong focal point will be vital to relieving pressure and moving the side up the pitch.
All in all, it promises to be a cracker and these two are likely to have a big say in which side of Sheffield will have the bragging rights.
