West Ham are reportedly allowing out-of-favour striker, Jordan Hugill to leave the club on a permanent deal to Middlesbrough according to the Northern Echo.

But the Hammers are only willing to sell Hugill for the £10m fee that they paid for him in January 2018, when he arrived from Preston North End.

Hugill has endured a mixed fortunes since arriving at The Riverside, but hasn't been a regular starter for Tony Pulis' side as they challenge for promotion this season.

He has made 19 starts in the league and has netted six league goals, which doesn't make the best of reading.

The 26-year-old has struggled ever since he left Preston, and he'll be keen to rediscover the form he had previously shown for the Lilywhites.

It remains to be seen as to whether Boro are willing to pay the £10m being quoted by West Ham, but Hugill's future isn't likely to be with the Hammers.

But should Middlesbrough supporters be excited by the potential permanent arrival of Hugill?

We discuss....

Gary Hutchinson:

"I wouldn't be excited if I were a Boro fan about this news.

"He's done little for them this season.

"As for the price tag, it's £5m more than he's worth.

"This is a non-starter as far as I'm concerned."

Jacob Potter:

"I don't think they should even consider signing him for this much.

"Hugill has hardly shown much promise since signing on loan for Boro and I just can't see him being worth the money if he was to sign on a permanent basis.

"It would be a stupid move by Boro."

Jay Taylor:

"I think they should, although the price is a little steep.

"With Assombalonga potentially deaprting the club in the summer, they'll need striking options.

"Hugill would be one but Boro would need another in my view.

"Having been half-impressive this season, he would be a decent option to continue with next season."
