Derby County managed to win their first match in four last Saturday to move up to fifth in the table ahead of the midweek round of games.

Craig Bryson scored within 20 seconds of the game starting to give the hosts to lead before Chris Basham restored parity for Chris Wilder’s men.

Jack Marriott scored what would turn out to be the winner in the 77th minute to give Frank Lampard’s team a well deserved three points.

One player who was impressive in the victory was Harry Wilson, who continued his fine form after his heroics for Wales in the UEFA Nations League last week.

Wilson played the full 90-minutes in the win and put on an impressive display through, vindicating Lampard’s decision to put the 21-year-old in from the start.

He had a total of 54 touches during the game, and that equated to 3.5 per cent of the Rams’ overall possession for the fixture.

With those touches he managed to make 33 passes, resulting in a total pass success rate of 82 per cent - meaning he made 27 accurate passes, only misplacing six throughout the match.

He also managed to complete three successful long balls.

The Liverpool loanee was, however, more successful in the tackling department, winning 75 per cent of the challenges he entered.

Despite being unable to offer any key passes or plays through the match, his positioning and defensive contributions were impressive as well as his passing statistics.

On top of those, he delivered two corners both were on target and caused danger in the Sheffield United box, without coming to anything, however.

With Derby winning, and Wilson starting and playing well, the attacking midfielder will be hoping to be involved once more on Wednesday evening when the Rams head to the Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion.

And after his performance in the win over the Blades, there is every expectation the 21-year-old will retain his place once more for the midweek trip to the Midlands.
