Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi is keen to strengthen his attacking options in the January transfer window, to give his side the best possible chance of winning promotion.

The Reds have made a promising start to their Sky Bet Championship campaign, but Lamouchi is keen to sign another striker this month to provide some backup for top scorer Lewis Grabban.

Forest have been linked with several attacking players over the past few weeks, including highly-rated Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.

The 20-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at Leeds United, but he was recently recalled by Arsenal over concerns over his lack of game time at Elland Road.

Arsenal are now looking to send the attacker out on loan to another Championship club for the second half of the season and Forest - along with Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday - are reportedly interested in him.

In the latest FLW Spotlight, we discuss whether Nketiah would be a good signing for the Reds, by taking a closer look at some of his stats for Leeds from the season so far...

Nketiah made 19 appearances for Leeds in all competitions during the first half of the season, but he started just two games in the Championship. In total, he played 752 minutes for the club.

Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa decided to make Patrick Bamford his first-choice striker, meaning that Nketiah struggled for game time throughout his spell at Elland Road.

Despite that, though, Nketiah was still able to make quite an impact. He scored five goals in all competitions, three in the Championship and two in the Carabao Cup.

He had a total of 22 shots on goal, which is not too bad when you consider that must of his appearances for Leeds came from the substitutes bench.

He was able to get 12 of those shots on target, leaving him with a shot accuracy of 54.5%. All things considered, this is actually rather impressive, especially when compared with Bamford (35.4%) and Grabban (40.8%).

Nketiah won 34.9% of his 106 offensive duels, so this suggests that he might need to improve a bit physically, but it's still higher than Grabban (31.6%) and what he lacks in physicality, he more than makes up for with his blistering pace.

Nketiah also had a pass accuracy of 76.6%, which is pretty good. He makes accurate passes into the final third and doesn't give the ball away that often. He's also made 15 progressive runs and had 45 touches in the opposition box.

When you analyse his goals for Leeds, he has that ability that all good strikers have, of making sure that he's in the right place at the right time.

This is very promising for Forest, when you consider the creative attacking players - the likes of Joe Lolley and Joao Carvalho - that they have in their squad.

These stats show that Nketiah is a very promising young player and that he's definitely capable of making an impact in the Championship. He could turn out to be a great signing for Forest and is definitely capable of providing backup for Grabban.

With that said, though, perhaps the striker should think twice before joining the Reds. He was recalled by Arsenal because he wasn't getting enough game time at Leeds, but there's no guarantee that he'd start matches for Forest ahead of Grabban.

QUIZ: Can you name every Nottingham Forest player’s shirt number?

Grabban has scored 14 goals for Forest in the Championship this season and on his day, he's one of the best strikers in the division.

The 31-year-old has got a lot more experience than Nketiah too, so if Forest are to sign the Arsenal youngster on loan, it's unlikely that he would start many games for the Reds ahead of Grabban.

Nketiah has clearly got a lot of potential, as evidenced by these stats, but if he wants to succeed at Arsenal, he needs game time. He needs to make sure that he considers his options very carefully before deciding who to sign for.
