Derby County’s new signing Duane Holmes is yet to feature in the league this season after his summer move from Scunthorpe United.

Frank Lampard’s new midfield recruit has only managed one appearance in the League Cup this year for his new side, after playing in the Iron’s league-opening win over Coventry City.

A second-half substitute on that occasion, Holmes has only managed 32 minutes of league action this campaign and that was for his old side.

And still awaiting his debut with his new Rams side, you could forgive him for being slightly frustrated at the lack of game time.

With that said, we here at FLW took to Twitter to ask the Derby County supporters if they felt Holmes would have a flourishing future at Pride Park.

In what was a close run battle, between the two choices, by the slightest of majorities - 51 per cent in fact - fans were in favour of the opinion that the former Scunthorpe midfielder will be a success at the club.

While the 23-year-old is yet to make an appearance for his new club, the slim majority polled believe that in time, Holmes will be a player who has a bright future at Pride Park.

The vote could have gone either way, however, with 49 per cent of the voters believing that the move to the Championship for Holmes is a step too far and he is unlikely to flourish in Derby colours.

It, of course, remains to be seen how the midfielder gets on during his spell working under Frank Lampard with judgement surely only to be passed once he has had a prolonged period in the first team, once he makes his debut.
