Aston Villa are still in the hunt for an automatic promotion spot with three games left to play this season, although it is likely that they will have to settle for a play-off place instead.

The Villains have been up towards the top of the league for the majority of this campaign and they trail second-placed Cardiff City by four points with three games remaining - although the Bluebirds can pull seven points clear if they beat Derby County in their game in hand.

This season, Villa have scored the third most goals in the league with 67 strikes in 43 games.

A lot of players have weighed in with goals for Aston Villa this term but since the January transfer window, one man in particular has taken centre stage in terms of goal scoring responsibility.

Here, FLW shine a spotlight on Lewis Grabban's season so far at Aston Villa.

In his 12 games for Aston Villa this season - of which eight have been starts - Grabban has notched five goals and added one assist.

This means that the centre forward, on loan from Bournemouth, directly contributes to a goal every other game, which is a good return at any level.

Prior to his switch to Villa Park, Grabban had scored 12 goals in 18 starts for Sunderland, meaning he has 17 Championship goals in total this season.

With a high pass completion percentage too, Grabban is proving that he is more than just a goal scoring striker - he is able to link the play and bring others like Albert Adomah and Scott Hogan into the game.

But is the 30-year-old worth keeping?

I think that if Aston Villa stay down, he is definitely worth signing on a permanent deal because he is a proven goal scorer at this level.

But if they go up, they need to upgrade on him because he has never quite proven his worth at the top level of English football.
