Huddersfield Town piled the pressure on Stoke boss Nathan Jones, as they took all three points home after a 1-0 win over the Potters on Tuesday evening.

Juninho Bacuna scored the crucial goal to see the Terriers pull away from Stoke in the league table, although they still remain in the relegation zone heading into the weekend's fixtures.

In our latest FLW Spotlight, we look into Bacuna's performance from the game in more detail.

Bacuna hasn't been a regular starter for Huddersfield, but he will pleased to have made a notable contribution in their win over the Potters.

Danny Cowley is unlikely to know what his strongest side is so early into his tenure in charge of the Terriers, and Bacuna's performance will definitely have caught the eye.

He was a second-half substitute as he replaced Trevoh Chalobah with the scores level on the night, and he certainly made a positive impact on the game.

Bacuna was only on the pitch for 25 minutes in total, but scored the all-important goal to earn Huddersfield their first league win of the season.

But apart from scoring the winner, Bacuna had a relatively quiet game against a Stoke side that were desperate to pick up their first win in this year's campaign themselves.

It remains to be seen as to whether Bacuna's goal has cost Nathan Jones his job with the Potters, but the pressure is certainly growing on the former Luton boss.

The 22-year-old attempted four passes in total during his time on the pitch, and with a pass accuracy of 50%, it's something that the midfielder will be hoping to improve on as the season progresses.

He failed to win an aerial duel in the game, although he's not known for being a dominant player in the air, especially against a Stoke team that have been known for their physicality in recent seasons.

Bacuna has made just three league starts this term, which is understandable as the midfielder faces a considerable amount of competition for his starting spot in Danny Cowley's team.

The likes of Jonathan Hogg and Trevoh Chalobah have been a rare bright spark in a disappointing start to the season, so it's clear to see that Bacuna isn't deemed ready to start for the Terriers.

But Bacuna can be pleased with his performance from this game, and he'll fancy his chances of being involved in the starting XI for Huddersfield's next league game against Hull City this weekend as they look to make it back-to-back wins.
