Brighton and Hove Albion define the fashionable phrase that is 'an upwardly mobile Championship club'.

An ambitious owner hell bent on reaching the Premier League, loyal fans and many of the resources required to reach the top flight already in place - the Seagulls look well positioned for promotion should it come.

While it's hard to imagine them being shy in the transfer market, whatever division they're in, perhaps a look into the loan market may be their best bet.

Looking to establish themselves as an attractive landing spot, it may well be difficult to lure top talent to the Amex right away even if they do make it to the Promised Land.

With that in mind, the loan market has served them well having landed James Wilson and Steve Sidwell, who have both aided their cause in the Championship.

Those particular deals are indicative of just how useful such a market is, with the former representing the sort of emerging talent you can land, while the latter highlighting how it can help bring in experience.

In the Premier League this season, Tottenham Hotspur have excelled with such a mix of those two attributes and represent an almost ideal blueprint for the South Coast.

Ironically enough, manager Chris Hughton has extensive contacts in North London following his lengthy spell with Spurs and would be well advised to make some enquiries for some of their youngsters over the course of the summer.

Josh Onomah

Though he's had a run in the first-team this season, the imminent arrival of Champions League football could see manager Mauricio Pochettino strengthen his forward line.

Clearly, the Argentine is noted for his penchant for giving youth a chance, though surely there will be some big adjustments in terms of incoming players to White Hart Lane,

Perhaps then, that would afford Onomah the chance to leave the club on a temporary basis in order to land first-team football.

A versatile midfielder, the England under-20 international is composed on the ball and could add an extra dimension to Brighton's midfield.

Cameron Carter-Vickers

Carter Vickers

American defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is hugely rated at White Hart Lane and has even drawn comparisons to club legend Ledley King.

Fast, strong and elegant on the ball, the 18-year old possesses the raw attributes required to go far in the game. However, as with any young player, he could certainly use a brief stint away to secure first-team football regularly.

If he's available, Brighton should make a move. Particularly if Lewis Dunk does ultimately leave the club.

Alex Pritchard

pritchard

Alex Pritchard was a wonderful player at Championship level during his loan spell with Brentford, though injuries have derailed his progress ever since.

Clearly another who is very highly rated in the Spurs camp, perhaps a move to a footballing side like Brighton would serve as the sort of spark to get his career back on track.

Likely to be a big part of Spurs' future, the 22-year old needs to focus on his present.

Harry Winks

Harry Winks

Harry Winks can count himself unlucky that Eric Dier has been one of the players of the season in defensive midfield.

While Dier has excelled and is almost a shoe in to start for England at Euro 2016, Winks has so far been unable to break into the starting eleven.

Still, the 20-year old is a wonderful deep-lying playmaker and deserves a run in a first-team in order to improve his understanding of the game further.

Paired next to Beram Kayal in the engine room, the two could spark up a formidable praetorship.

DeAndre Yedlin

Currently on loan at Sunderland and the second American defender in the list, a move for DeAndre Yedlin would be well advised this summer. Even if on loan.

While his career has stalled somewhat since starring for the USA in Brazil 2014, the speedy right-back has recently once again hit form on Wearside.

Inigo Calderon has been excellent this season, but the Spaniard is now 34 years of age and surely cannot go on much longer. Especially at the top level.
