According to The Sun, Crewe Alexandra are lining up a sensational swoop for Wes Brown this summer.

League Two outfit Crewe Alexandra are prepared to offer Wes Brown a two year deal.

Wes Brown is set to become a free agent with his contract at Blackburn Rovers expiring next month.

The 37-year-old managed just eight appearances for Rovers last season with five coming in the Championship.

Prior to that, Brown had a spell at Sunderland but he is best known for his time at Manchester United.

The former England international, with 23 caps and 1 goal to his name, helped Manchester United to lift five Premier League titles, as well as picking up two FA Cup titles, three League Cups and two Champions League trophies.

Brown, who plays as a centre half, has been helping out with coaching at Blackburn but Crewe Alexandra are offering him a chance to continue in a player-coach role at League Two level.
