Before Paul Clement became the manager of Sky Bet Championship side Derby County in the summer, he was one of the most highly-rated coaches in European football.

Despite being in his first position as the boss, his career so far has been impressive as he has worked with a number of Europe's top clubs as a coach and assistant manager.

He has been involved in the back room set-ups at Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain as well as European giants Real Madrid so he has a very impressive CV.

He has worked with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Didier Drogba so he seems destined to manage at a higher level than the Championship.

Clement has an impressive contact list and his stature in the game made this quite a coup for the Rams, when they persuaded him to take over from Steve McClaren in the summer.

While the 43-year old didn't have the most impressive of playing careers, he's certainly making up for it with his coaching career but his father and brother had relatively successful playing careers.

His father, Dave, played over 500 games in club football, predominantly for QPR, and was even capped five times by England before his death in 1982. His brother Neil is famous for his 10 year spell with West Bromwich Albion, where he played over 250 games.

After Clement's playing career failed to take off, he concentrated on coaching instead. While he was gaining experience with Chelsea's academy, who is brother Neil was playing for at the time, he had a job as a PE teacher.

His time in teaching clearly helped him as he gained his UEFA 'A' coaching license while in the role.

He has a pretty impressive trophy cabinet

His team with some of Europe's biggest clubs has seen Clement collect quite a few medals over the years that make him one of the most successful coaches in the game.

He has won league titles with Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid as well a Champions League medal with the Spanish side in 2014. Its fair to say that he has quite a few medals in his trophy cabinet, and he'll be hoping to add a Championship medal to them.

After the Venky's bought Blackburn Rovers and replaced Sam Allardyce with Steve Kean, fans were less than impressed and it was seen as one of the darkest times for the football club in recent years.

However some forget that Clement was around the club at that time after he was appointed as Kean's assistant in October 2011.

He has experience in international football

After obtaining his 'A' license in 1999, Clement was employed by Fulham's academy and before he spent time with some of the most successful clubs in Europe, he had a spell as a coach in international football.

He spent three years with the Republic of Ireland under-21 side and that experience with young international players will help him at Derby, especially with some of their talented youngsters.
