Nottingham Forest find themselves in a similar position to last year which is mid-table mediocrity.
The difference being the expectation is lower this year as last year they were fighting it up at the top before enduring a slump in the second half, which saw them finish 14th in the end.
This season they have been steady and have been around mid-table for the whole season as they try and cope with the absence of Assombalonga, who was there key man for most of last season and also the loss of Michail Antonio who was sold to West Ham after his sparkling tenure at Forest last season.
There were hopes of a possible play-off challenge earlier in the season after they beat Middlesbrough away from home, to move into the top half but some poor form recently may of put those hopes to the sword.
They currently sit 15th and 13 points off the play-offs so it would take something special for them to achieve that.
Manager Dougie Freedman came in for a lot of flak at the start of the season when the team were picking up poor results, like the 4-3 home defeat to Walsall.
Forest are rebuilding for next season where they are hoping for a promotion push, but here are FIVE things we’ve learnt about them this season so far…….
