Wolves have made a promising start under new manager Walter Zenga, despite being beaten at the weekend by fellow high flyers Huddersfield Town.

Backed by new owners with seemingly unlimited funds, Zenga has delved into the transfer market plenty of times during the summer thus far, bringing in plenty of top talent to help his squad towards the ultimate aim of promotion.

With just two days of the transfer window left though, Wolves and Zenga will no doubt be keen to add a few more pieces to the puzzle.

One position which can always be strengthened is up front, where you can never have enough goal-scorers and players who are capable of putting the ball in the back of the net.

Here, FLW writer Lee Connor identifies FIVE strikers who could be perfect for Wolves to sign before the end of the window...

Jordan Rhodes

The Scottish international has for one reason or another found himself out of favour at Middlesbrough, with manager Karanka seemingly preferring new signing Alvaro Negredo up front.

This has sparked rumours around a potential move for Rhodes, and Wolves are one of few clubs in the Championship who could actually afford him.

Rhodes is guaranteed goals in the second tier as his record shows, and he would be the sort of signing to excite Wolves fans even more.

Lee Gregory

Proven in League One and always rumoured to be being watched by the league above, Gregory might get his move away from the Den this transfer window, and Wolves could be the ideal destination.

The former non-league striker is excellent in front of goal, and is the type of striker who seems to have the natural instinct to finish off any chance which falls his way.

Gregory could well excel at Championship level given the chance, and Walter Zenga might just give him that opportunity.

Ademola Lookman

The young Charlton hotshot is one of the most sought after talents outside of the top two divisions, and Wolves might well look to bring Lookman to Molineux.

Lookman scored an impressive goal for Charlton last week to further highlight his potential, and a move before the end of the summer does not look to be out of the question.

Lookman would add youth, pace, and trickery to a Wolves squad already full of talent.

Kyle Lafferty

Lafferty is on the fringes with fellow Championship club Norwich, but there is no doubt he can do a job at Championship level given the chance.

The Northern Irishman is a striker who seems to have fallen by the wayside a bit in the last few seasons, so a fresh start could well be of use to him.

His experience and know-how at this level could be vital if Wolves were to consider a move for the striker.

Rickie Lambert

Tony Pulis has already said he expects Lambert to move on, with the Championship as likely a destination as any for the England international.

Lambert would bring experience to the Wolves line-up, as well as a hand knack of knowing exactly where the back of the net is.

If Lambert could rediscover the form he showed at Southampton a few seasons ago, he could well prove the difference between promotion and staying in the Championship for Wolves.

Wolves fans, what do you think? Would you take any of these? Let us know in the comments!
