Despite a summer transfer window spent re-shaping the playing staff, a change in manager means that the January transfer window is likely to follow the same pattern at Leeds United.

Ex-boss Uwe Rosler was given the funds with which to build a squad to challenge for promotion and despite some stellar signings, the team's performances were poor to say the least and the German was inevitably sacked.

Steve Evans is the man tasked with reviving the club's fortunes and he now must make the most of the January window to give Leeds the best possible chance to make a success of the 2015/16 campaign.

One area of the pitch that Evans has identified as needing reinforcements is in attack and here Football League World's Lee Clarke picks FIVE strikers the Whites should target as they look to get back on track.....

The Manchester United youngster is desperate for first-team football and a move to the Championship would be a good move for all parties.

United simply struggle to give the 19-year-old the minutes he needs with the first-team and their departure from the Capital One Cup will only serve to further hamper his chances of playing regular football.

Leeds could do with a lively striker to work off New Zealand international Chris Wood and Wilson would fit the bill.

Tom Bradshaw

Walsall star Bradshaw is another player in the similar style to Wilson and his nine goals in all competitions this season have made club's higher up the Football League stand up and take note.

It is unlikely the Saddlers will want to sell their prized asset as they look to join the Championship themselves but money talks and the right bid would no doubt see him leave the West Midlands-based club.

The 23-year-old is still relatively young and Leeds could tie him down ahead of his best years.

Luciano Becchio

The legendary Leeds striker said yesterday that he would like to talk to the club about a move back to West Yorkshire and it might not be such a bad idea for the club to pursue this signing.

The Argentinean forward spent five years at Leeds and helped them return to the Championship before leaving for Norwich City to play Premier League football.

The move to the Canaries never worked out for the man who smashed 75-goals for the Whites during his time at the club and his career has since stalled.

I said on these pages not too long back that any team in the Championship could do a lot worse than take a chance on a natural talisman such as Becchio - provided of course that he can prove his fitness!

Josh Windass

The son of former Hull City hero Dean, Josh Windass is currently absolutely smashing it in League Two.

His seven goal haul so far during this campaign has propelled Accrington Stanley into an unlikely play-off position and in the process has enhances his personal reputation.

The 21-year-old striker has been a breath of fresh air for Stanley this season and his performances have suggested that he is destined for bigger things.

Given the League Two club's financial situation it is unlikely that the Whites will have to pay over the offs for Windass.

Emmanuel Adebayor

Okay so this one is pretty much a long shot but it is only a matter of time before someone takes a punt on the Togo international, who is without a club since leaving Spurs earlier in the summer.

Adebayor's wages would probably scupper a deal but signing this goal machine would pretty much guarantee Leeds a rise up the table and would get the fans off of Massimo Cellino's back for a while.

Steve Evans would no doubt love a man with the experience of Adebayor strutting his stuff in the Championship and the fact he has played at the top level all of his career could rub off on some of Leeds' younger players.

Like I say, very much an outside shot, but funnier things have happened in football.
